While Civil 3D can be an effective tool for end-users, it takes a substantial effort to manage the background files and provide a quality production environment. Interfaces are slow and clumsy, wasting valuable time. The result can be half-baked CAD content and inefficient users. This all changes with new workflows provided by the CIM Manager Suite toolset from CTC Software. We’ll manage Layers and Object Layer settings through smart Excel syncing. We’ll learn to track all references to Styles and Layers across a template, eliminating tedious searching for where they’re used. We’ll create and edit Linetypes in a dynamic visual interface, instead of the normal error-prone text file editing. Finally, we’ll sync Description Keys and Figure Prefix DB’s with Excel, including automatic Style creation, saving hours on work required to create and update CAD standards. We’ll take hour-long tasks and complete them in minutes! Speaker biography: Brian Levendowski, PE is the Civil Product Manager for CTC Software. He spends his time developing custom applications and plugins for Civil 3D, AutoCAD and the Infrastructure industry. He is a highly-rated and seasoned Autodesk University Speaker, specializing in serving the civil infrastructure industry.
