With the advance of 3D concrete printing, formwork is no longer necessary and designer have more architectural freedom to design the structure. However, without formwork, strength and stability of the structure becomes an important aspect for structural engineers. This means that not only the final state needs to be checked, but also the printing stability of a 3D printed object needs to be checked. During early stages of the design process of a concrete structure or element, the design is often rapidly evolving. Therefore, the designer needs to know quickly, whether the design that he has created can also be manufactured using 3D printing technology. This webinar will present a practical approach to assess stability of a 3D concrete printed object using finite element analysis (FEA) method and with DIANA software.
