CSI SAP2000 is a 3D static and dynamic finite element analysis and structure design system.
SAP2000 follows principles, the main features of which are a modern, intuitive and universal user interface, based on a unique computational kernel and structural design tools for engineers developing transport infrastructure, industrial and civil buildings, sports facilities and other facilities.
From a 3D object-oriented modeling workbench to the broadest range of structural analysis and design options integrated into one powerful user interface, SAP2000 is the most integrated, powerful and practical general purpose calculation suite on the market today. The intuitive interface allows you to create structural models in no time without a long learning curve. Today you can use SAP2000 for all of your calculation and design tasks, including small daily tasks.
Complex models can be generated and broken down into finite elements using built-in templates. Integrated structural design tools are able to automatically generate wind, wave, vehicle and seismic loads on the model, as well as perform full automatic verification of steel and reinforced concrete elements according to design codes of different countries.
Analysis
- Speed improvements made in the recovery of Element Nonlinear Energy by Group and Base Reactions tables for load cases with a large number of output steps.
- Speed improvements made for nonlinear static, nonlinear multi-step static, and nonlinear direct-integration time-history cases using the advanced or multi-threaded solvers.
Design
Cold-formed frame design added according to Eurocode 3 1-3:2006.
Concrete frame design added according to ACI 318-19.
Concrete frame design for seismic beam/column capacity has been expanded to use enhanced moments.
Loading
Auto-seismic loading and response spectrum function added according to Vietnamese Standard TCVN 9386:2012.
Auto-wind loading, according to NBCC 2015, now handles the dynamic procedure for open and rough terrain.
Auto lateral loading has been added per the Korean KDS 41 17 00:2019 code, including seismic load and response-spectrum functions.
Structural Model
Improvements made to hinge acceptance criteria and status output.
Application Programming Interface (API)
Database tables can now be accessed via the API for both editing and display purposes.
Cloud Licensing
Cloud-based licensing is now standard for SAP2000.

- Access licenses outside of company networks and VPNs
- Share licenses between users (non-simultaneous)
- Check-out a license to work offline
