Alluvial diamond miners outline way to save fast-shrinking industry

The number of alluvial diamond operators is decreasing at an alarming rate. In 2004, there were 2 000 small diamond-mining companies, which employed close to 25 000 people, and now there are only about 200 operators employing only 5 000 people – a 90% decline.
