Diversified mining and marketing company Anglo American is to demerge its South Africa thermal coal operations, the company said on Thursday. The demerger is subject to the approval of Anglo’s shareholders on May 5, Anglo thermal coal head July Ndlovu named as CEO of Thungela Resources Limited, the demerged entity and new holding company. Thungela means to "ignite" in isiZulu.
