Human Settlements, Water and Sanitation Minister Lindiwe Sisulu has welcomed the progress that has been made towards the upgrading of the Rooiwal Wastewater Treatment Works to restore it from its severely deteriorated state. Sisulu visited the facility on April 14 to conduct an inspection at the plant and to properly understand the concerns that were raised by the South African Human Rights Commission after the community lodged a complaint with the Chapter 9 institution and to ensure the facility operates optimally.
