South Africa co-hosts COP26 Energy Transition Council dialogue

The South African government on April 29 co-hosted the first Energy Transition Council National Dialogue to look at options to support emerging countries to unlock an accelerated energy transition ahead of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP26) Climate Summit, in Glasgow, in November. The aim of the dialogue was to create a platform where emerging economies could connect with political, financial and technical leaders in the development community, as well as the global power sector, to establish how best they can enhance and align their cooperation in pursuit of a greener and more just energy supply.
