Description: This presentation will review the changes that have occurred in how the concrete pavement industry have addressed the need for durability in our infrastructure. This will include a discussion of the effects of specifying strength, w/cm and an adequate air void system. More recently we are moving toward measuring other properties such as permeability and resistance to deicing salts. In all of this we will discuss the contribution of Dr. Tayabji in guiding the work in this area.
