Micro Reinforcement in Concrete - Reduce Shrinkage and Cracking Using Fibers
Using micro reinforcement material mixed in concrete provides a multi-directional reinforcing network and create a ductile composite system. This significantly reduces shrinkage and cracking and changes the failure mechanism of the concrete, from sudden brittle failure resulting in complete damage to the concrete, into a ductile composite system that is more resistant to cracking and localize damage. The purpose of this presentation is to clarify what are the material properties and performance, explain mixing and select material design and applications.
