The use of sustainable biofuel to power a chartered capesize ship during a voyage from Singapore to South Africa has been successfully trialled as part of a decarbonisation initiative, Anglo American said on Tuesday. The biodiesel blend was produced by converting waste cooking oil from Singapore’s food and beverage industry, which reduces carbon dioxide emissions when compared with using 100% conventional marine fuel.
