GM moves to source lithium in US for its EV batteries

US-based auto giant General Motors (GM) has struck a deal to secure local and low-cost lithium for its electric vehicle (EV) batteries. The company has announced a multi-million-dollar investment in unlisted Controlled Thermal Resources’ (CTR’s) Hell’s Kitchen project, in California, giving it first rights on lithium produced by the project.
