Associations say eased liquor trading restrictions still a challenge

The Beer Association of South Africa (Basa) and the South African Liquor Brandowners Association (Salba) have cautiously welcomed President Cyril Ramaphosa’s announcement that, from September 13, South Africa is moving to adjusted Level 2 lockdown. Under the adjusted regulations, the curfew is in place from 23:00 to 04:00 and alcohol sales for on-site consumption is allowed until 22:00 seven days a week.
