Design drawings and specifications are integral parts of structural steel contracts. They must accurately convey the work to be performed in order to ensure accurate bids and safe projects. Both the AISC Code of Standard Practice and the AISC Seismic Provisions contain requirements related to the information that must be provided to the contractor by the engineer of record. This presentation will provide an overview of the relevant AISC documents and their requirements pertaining to seismic design. The presenters will discuss the effect incomplete information can have on the bidding process and some common issues they have seen in practice. Examples of how to properly include the requisite information will be provided.
