World crude steel production for the 64 countries reporting to industry body the World Steel Association (worldsteel) was 145.7-million tonnes in October, a 10.6% decrease compared with October 2020, the association said on November 23. Africa produced 1.4-million tonnes in October, up 24.1% year-on-year, while Asia and Oceania produced 100.7-million tonnes, down 16.6%.
