South Africans again able to fly out of the country using Qatar Airways

Qatar Airways resumed flights to and from both Johannesburg and Cape Town on Sunday. Following the imposition of international travel restrictions, in attempts to counter the Omicron variant of Covid-19, the airline, although still operating to South Africa, had been unable to carry South African travellers on its flights out of the country. “Qatar Airways has worked diligently throughout the pandemic to keep flying within the ever-changing regulations across the globe and it is particularly gratifying to once again be able to carry our South African customers to visit family and friends over the festive period, or enjoy a well-earned break,” stated Qatar Airways VP: Africa Hendrik du Preez. “We also know how important tourism is to South Africa and hope this will encourage more people to visit South Africa over the summer season.”
