The South African National Roads Agency Limited (Sanral) will spend more than R150-million on a special road maintenance project between Cookhouse and Bedford in the Eastern Cape, which is expected to be completed after 18 months. The R63 national road project, valued at R155-million, will create much-needed job opportunities for local community members and small, medium-sized and microenterprises (SMMEs) in the local municipalities of Blue Crane and Raymond Mhlaba, says Sanral Southern Region transformation officer Thandile Makwabe.
