Big name investors back new climate venture fund

Swiss investment firm Lombard Odier Group and a billionaire from the family behind Swiss pharmaceuticals giant Roche Holding are among a cast of big name investors in a new climate change venture capital fund. With a first close of $70-million and a target size of $200-million, the Systemiq Capital Fund II will focus on climate tech companies that help reduce emissions and improve sustainability in areas from food production to building materials and transportation, according to a statement. The London-based fund is managed by Systemiq Capital, an investment firm that was spun out of sustainability consultancy Systemiq.
