Pulp and paper manufacturer Sappi recorded a strong performance for the first quarter of its 2023 financial year – well above pre-Covid-19 levels and the best ever first-quarter results, CEO Steve Binnie points out. Its earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation (Ebitda) for the quarter ended December 31, 2022, of $290-million was 21% higher year-on-year and in line with guidance.
